A NEW SEASON MEANS A NEW LOOK

It’s the start of so many things! The summer season is well on its way, and with that comes new views and we have a lot of accommodation options for you to choose from. We’ve been very busy revamping some of our communal spaces over winter. Welcome to Ocean View’s new-look reception area and dining room!

A SOPHISTICATED WELCOME

Central to your experience of Ocean View is the warm welcome you can expect. We like to ensure that is present in every communication with you, from our and chats on the phone to our E-Mail correspondence to our Facebook page. We’ve extended this into the new look in the reception area, with fresh finishes, fabrics and details, like the orca lamp. The idea was “to incorporate the current reception and balustrade colours,” says manager KatrinLukic. “We went for a more elegant sophisticated look with the colours gold, caramel and black.” It seems to have worked well. Have a seat and page through a brochure; we’re sure you’ll feel right at home in such luxury.

DINING, DESIGNER-STYLE

The dining room is keeping up with the Jones when it comes to stylish, bright finishes. Designer, Amanda Chapman, added her professional touch to the room to reinvigorate its cheeriness. Bold prints on wall paper and bright finishes on the diner-style sofa are signature details that add to the charm.
“We wanted a fresher, almost bistro-style look,” says manager Katrin. “The bench was a great way of accommodating extra seating.” The redesign meant new tables, stools, bench and wall paper. We hope that the fine, friendly finishes will always remind you fondly of your stay(s) at Ocean View Guest House.
To complement the clean finishes, our menu continues to impress with daily specials. Maybe you fancy a Hawaiian omelette for breakfast? How about periperi chicken toast with melted cheese for lunch? The delicious daily options are, of course, still available, full of freshness, goodness and Cape taste!

A FRESH FEEL

We’ve also been busy revamping select bathrooms. Classic rooms 6 and 7 and the Royal Suite (room 10) have been revamped for a more modern, sophisticated finish than before. Relax and unwind, four-star style!

PROUD TO BE PART OF CAPE TOWN DESIGN

We are excited to be part of a city that uses design to enhance and transform itself into World Design Capital 2014.And while design in Cape Town isn’t exclusively aesthetic and ambient, it does generally make things look better, be it green cycle lanes or cleaner streets. With that in mind, duty manager Bronwyn gives her advice for a good redecorating experience : “get a good interior designer, with the experience and knowledge to turn your brief into a brilliant space.”

MORE TO COME

Now that we’ve updated the elements and upgraded the ambience, we invite you to be our guest and let us know what you think. And remember, we have a host of new suites that will soon be ready to offer you entirely new four-star views!
